A Bit Of News...

Just a quick post to let everyone know that Liz & I are engaged!

We are in Montreal, and I proposed to her last night as we were strolling back to our hotel. Yes, I did go down on one knee, and yes Liz did cry :)

So let me get this straight, you take the poor woman across the border and the only hope she has of seeing her native land again is to agree to spend the rest of her life with you? No wonder she cried. (I suspect you got down on one knee to duck the inevitable right cross) But seriously folks, I suspect Mark had this in mind all along, and I'm glad he finally got up the nerve. May this new journey be just as (if not more) enjoyable than the one you're currently on. Looking forward to the day that your little Dougaldonkeys have blogs of their very own.

Congratulations to you both, and well done Mark! So, will the wedding be in the US, the UK or Downunder? Or all three? How about South Africa for that branch of your family... Do you realise that when your (hypothetical) children ask you "Mummy, Daddy, where do I come from?" that this question will involve an atlas, and about a fortnight!

Mark, Liz,

CONGRATULATIONS. That is wonderful news. This is the first time I am actually writing on your blog, mostly because nothing seems really exciting enough in comparision to your adventures, but this post definitely made it necessary. Looking forward to seeing you in London soon.
